In Benton, Illinois, Lewis Rice attorneys David B. Helms and Bridget Hoy obtained a record-setting $60 million-dollar jury verdict in a leasing fraud case. Lewis Rice represented Christopher Greater Area Rural Health Planning Corp., a not-for-profit community health clinic serving Southern Illinois. The jury verdict is believed to be the largest ever awarded in the history of the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois.
The jury ordered Lyon Financial Services to pay damages for fraudulent misrepresentation and/or fraudulent concealment; negligent misrepresentation; civil conspiracy; and aiding and abetting.
