In a practice spanning over three decades, Bill Carr has been involved in a wide variety of transactions touching virtually all aspects of real estate law. His practice has involved sales, purchases, leasing, joint ventures, financing, workouts, condemnation, development, oil and gas and real estate litigation strategy. His clients have included landlords, tenants, lenders, borrowers, buyers, sellers, developers and moneyed partners in various types of retail, office, industrial, residential and mixed use projects. His practice is national and international in scope having worked on projects in many states in the continental United States and having handled transactions in Europe and Asia.
Mr. Carr has been consistently recognized by his peers and rating services as being a first-rate real estate lawyer. In 2009 he received the first ever Best Lawyer’s In America Kansas City Real Estate Lawyer of the Year. Also in 2009, Bill has honored as the recipient of the Baron of the Bar Award given by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association for a distinguished career representing corporate and business clients. He is the only lawyer in Missouri to enjoy a Tier One Rank under Real Estate in all editions of Chambers and Partners America’s Leading Lawyers for Business which recently said “the sheer weight of experience and ability behind Bill Carr’s practice places him at the top of the tree for interviewees. His transactional work in joint ventures “has the mark of a man in complete command of real estate law”. Mr. Carr has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® from 1995 through the present. He has also been listed in all editions of Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers®. He is among less than 500 United States lawyers listed in Who’s Who Legal, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. Mr. Carr is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and has served on its Board of Governors (2005-2008) and chaired its Leasing Committee. He is a past chairman of the both the Real Estate and Managing Partners Section of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and was active in framing its diversity policy. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri at Kansas City Law School and has been a frequent lecturer and contributor to local, regional and national real estate conferences.
Outside of the practice, Mr. Carr has been active in the Kansas City Jewish community. He currently serves as President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City and is a past president of Congregation B’nai Jehudah and the University of Kansas Hillel.
